More goodies for The Looney

What is one to do in April when the snow is flying? Finish up an embroidery project for The Looney, that's what. This will be the center of a wall hanging quilt. I saw this pattern on Pinterest and ordered it from The The Floss Box.

I'm using the Moda Marmalade fabric by Bonnie & Camille. I love the vintage look of this line.

I'm hoping to wrap up all these project soon. I"ll post pic's when they are finished.

April Showers

Snow showers in April... does that mean flowers in June? Up until yesterday The Looney still had some snow on her.

I've been working on an afghan for The Looney, some cute hexies. This will help keep us warm while camping!! I've changed the color scheme a little from what I had originally planned. I need to whip up a few more hexies in coral and yellow so it all matches. Hope to have it done before the first camping trip.... always the best intentions. Keep checking in on me. I'll post pic's when it's done.

Bunting

Bunting for The Looney

Here is a sneak peak at a little something I'm making for The Looney. I didn't have time last fall to personalize her much. This is just one of a few projects I'm working on... stay tuned.

What is "The Looney"?

The Looney is my 2009 reproduction Shasta Camper/Travel Trailer. I purchased the camper In August 2012. I had been looking at vintage campers in hopes of finding a decent one to restore, then I came across this beauty. In all my looking at vintage Shasta's I had never come across the 2009 model. I totally lucked out, when on a whim, looked at Craigs list one morning. The ad had just gone up about an hour before I viewed it. The camper was all of 15 miles from my home. My daughter and I went to check her out immediately. She is in mint condition! I bought her on the spot!

So after two trips last fall my daughter and I decided she needed a name. After making a list of several we liked we settled on The Looney. The MN state bird is the Loon, my nickname is Louie, so my daughter took the combo of the two names and came up with The Looney. We thought it was appropriate since we too are a little looney!

A little background on the 2009 Shasta Airflyte 12. There were only 114 produced before they pulled the plug due to low sales. One big reason was the Airflyte was all electric, no propane. That’s fine if you’re at a campground where there’s always electricity. The other big reason is that Coachmen had been absorbed by Forest River, who already had a lightweight, retro-styled trailer in the r-Pod. When Coachmen looked in the plant the summer of 2012 they realized they had enough product left to build TWO units only and they would be the last 2 ever produced. Those two are called the Shasta Airflyte 16, they are a little longer than the 12 and have propane.

We love our Looney and look forward to taking her on many fun adventures!
